Three months is a delightful age for an infant daughter! We are having so much fun, every day, seeing her reach developmental milestones.
Since our Little Monkey Princess absolutely loathes taking a bath, we attempted a shower this week. Daddio took her in. She panicked a little at first, settled into it, then decided it was too weird afterall and wailed nonstop. It took a dry set of clothes and a belly full of milk for her to finally settle down.

The good news is she napped like Nessa VanWinkle after that. I nursed her lying down in our bed, then I snuck away when she fell asleep. Ha! She slept for two hours which afforded me enough time to clean out my closet. Later, I got her to fall asleep in her swing. First time ever for her to nap on her own, and she did it twice in one day! That night she had a restless sleep, but it was worth it.

It does seem like Van's acid reflux is disappearing. Maybe she's outgrowing it, as hoped. She has moved on to excessive drooling and recently discovered her hands. No grabbing at objects yet, she gnaws on the back of them, even at the breast.

To her father's delight, Van has a curiously strong neck and can sit up on the couch for long periods watching TV. She's also getting the hang of her Johnny-Jump-Up. You should see her tip her head back and hold it there to inspect the structural integrity of the apparatus. Maybe she's a budding engineer.
She positively loves to be sung to. When we bounce Nessers on the magic ball we make up lyrics to whatever tune is in our head, which is often, for better or worse, The Bunny Hop. She fixates on our mouths and jams her tongue out while we sing. We believe she's singing along.

Well isn't it endearing to have your offspring smile at you in sudden recognition? Sometimes she will be nursing and then look up, catch my eye, and break into a giant grin. Was she surprised to see me there? Has she been eating at some other cantina? This morning Daddio woke me up with his snickering. I thought he was standing over the bed learing at me and my bedhead, until I realized he and Van were having a "conversation" while I was sleeping.
