THE NEW DIGS'LL DO

In one month's time, we saw our baby attempt to stand and quickly boxed up everything we owned to move to a Vanessa-friendly home so she can cruise the living room, yard, and even the sea shore.

Too bad we didn't grab our camera for tonight's walk on the beach. At sunset we saw whales in the distance, spouting, breaching, and sky-hopping for their dinner, surfers on our nice little break, Milo sprinting for the tennis ball with full-body dog glee, and Nessers motoring across the hard packed sand like a hermit crab, singing a little tune. Ah, life.

We don't have many of her latest tricks on tape yet. She sips water from a cup, she knows her name, she knows my name, "Mama." She loves the bathroom, the bathtub, and of course the whole bath experience, and she's discovered the many pleasures of gnawing on a cold apple. Van also clicks her tongue softly to speak to us, like an East African tribeswoman, or perhaps a dolphin.

Here is Baby Nessa after she discovered the sprinkler.

Here is Nanners trying to get to the beauty bark before Daddio catches her.

And here is VH1 letting her Daddio know she was not done crawling yet.
